POINTBREAK-5 PERFORMANCE UPDATE AND NEXT DEVELOPMENT

I had some questions after the end of Euro sideways period in1.5300 - 1.5600 in this month that I wanted to address.

FIRST, I appreciate the responses received thus far. They have all been positive for PointBreak-5 performance. Although I have received some negative emails about the drawdown side of PointBreak-5. I think to justify the importance of understanding what we are doing. There were some questions... and I would encourage anyone who has aquestion, to send it in. I may not answer personally, but I will try to include the answers in the updates.

I still preparing my next project: PointBreak-6 and I will have put together that better explains not only what we are doing, but my research in including some variations of several closing techniques (averaging, pyramiding, lots progressive, etc) into what we are doing.

POINTBREAK-5 PERFORMANCE

SECOND, the performance of PointBreak-5 still continue show aconsistent results:
I know some of you stopped your PointBreak EA when Euro in choppyarea (1.5300-1.5600) from March - August 2008 and the drawdown become growing everyday, then watched Euro drop into 1.5000 and close all drawdown with PROFITS, and continuous making another profits everyday.... yes, it's dissapointed... :(

That's why I can't stress enough the most importance of using smaller Risk setting, so you can sleep well and wait patiently until PointBreak-5 solve all kind of market condition. Despite our consistent profits on PointBreak-5, I realized one of the downside using PorintBreak-5 is you need to have suffucient capital to sustain the drawdown until PointBreak-5 solve the drawdown problem. You need to have patient when Euro still in choppy area. For those who do not have stomach for large drawdown on your account, I always suggest to run PointBreak5 in Risk=1 or 2 only.

NEW DEVELOPMENT: POINTBREAK-6

In the next 2 weeks I will I release my research on PointBreak-6. The information focused on our new development is very encoraging.

Using several new techniques, our PointBreak EA will have smaller drawdown and close the drawdown faster than before. I strongly suggest you take a look at the link I will send you next week to better understand everything going on. In PointBreak-6, I began to explore the possibility of using inverted trades and progressive trading strategy exclusively in cycles due to the frequency of going into significant open position drawdowns with the PointBreak strategy.

In those strategies, drawdowns are simply a necessary evil in order to put the long-term probabilities in our favor. The long story made short is that we hope to see the fruits of these efforts increase our probability and consistency of success. The idea is to keep the profit potential constant even when the drawdowns are not at the extreme levels. Investigating and analyzing different ways of using inverted cycles has been a very long and thorough process.

In this issue I write tips that I use to trade Forex market successfully.

This is part 1 of several key that become my forex trading strategy. This topic, I explain more about my favorite strategy: Pyramiding Technique; which is the main strategy in our managed funds account or in PointBreak expert advisor.

Before I discuss more about the five steps I used to trade forex and the secret of pyramiding straategy, let me show you the proven results of this strategy:

Now come back to my tips how to trade Forex market:I use 5 steps to trade Forex:

1. Identify potential new trades.

2. Provide you with proprietary bullish and bearish trend outlook for the current market.

3. Provide levels for entering a trade, closing a trade and booking profits at the end of a trade.

4. Include the Pyramiding Trading technique to help you extract maximum profits from any trended move.

5. Protect your trading capital with sound money management and stop loss mechanism.

I guest you already know about those steps. I will not discuss every steps in detail; except the Pyramiding trading technique, which has been the core of my trading system.

- What is Pyramiding technique ?

Pyramiding trading is the process of using profit generated from an existing position to acquire additional positions. This results in a "doubling" of your position during each pyramid iteration to rapidly achieve exponential gains.

Pyramiding trading technique help you extract maximum profits from any trended move.

Some said "Pyramiding: A Risky Strategy"

Let me explain more about this one: Pyramiding is adding to positions as price moves in the desired trend direction. Pyramiding is a highly aggressive trading strategy suitable for professional traders who know how to control risks and have the discipline to execute a tested plan consistently.

Reward/risk trade offs quickly turn against the pyramid trader when the price trend reverses. Because adding to positions changes the total cost of the entire position on a per-unit basis toward the last price, a quick reversal to the original entry price can result in a significant loss. Pyramiding should be executed only according a predetermined and tested method which includes an effective stop loss or hedging technique.

- What is a hedging technique?

Hedging is a strategy designed to minimize exposure to an unwanted financial risk, while still allowing the assets involved to profit from their investment activity.

PointBreak trading system use strong hedging strategy. It means PointBreak will hedge using the same currency (100% correlation and every 1 long position will behedge by 1 short position). This hedge aims to minimize the risk from moves with the currency pair used, thus allowing profits to be accrued from the daily movement.

Although pyramiding increases profits if the trend continues as hoped, pyramiding also increases losses if the trend reverses, so Risk Control is key.

In PointBreak EA, risk contol is our main concern, we never overtrade our pyramiding technique. This will ensure that PointBreak trading strategy will go smooth, giving you profit month after month.

- When to Pyramid ?

There are just ways of pyramiding. One is to buy more or sell more just as soon as the market breaks into new territory or makes a new high or a new low. In a fast running market, you can continue to buy or sell every few points the market moves in your favor, all depending on the market or your method of pyramiding.

A pyramiding should always be followed up with proper and strict stop loss orders or special hedging technique above. When you do a pyramid trade, the signal to add to positions may be triggered at predetermined price points that confirm the trend direction.

Such price points might be based on volatility bands, moving averages, a variety of trendlines, logical chart points, penetration of resistance levels, and so on. No matter what method is used, because your profits must in all case be protected. The more profits are there on the table, the more room you can give the market to fluctuate or have its reverse moves or reactions, that is you can place your loss order further away from the market so that a natural reaction will not distur by our pyramid.

PointBreak EA divide its pyramid trade into multiple cycle to protect the profits and to minimize the risk.

For Example:
You have followed and added up on a EUR/USD market that is 100 points gain in your favor now. If the market has had a previousreaction of 20 points, it could again react 20 points without changing the main trend, therefore your stop loss order could be 20 points under the market, because if it was caught, you would not belosing part of your capital but only a fraction of your paper profits, while in early stages of your pyramid your stop loss order would have to be closer in order to protect you original capital.

- Pyramiding Trading Type

The Standard Pyramid, which is also known as the scaled-down pyramid or upright pyramid, starts with a large initial positionand is followed by predetermined additions that decrease systematically in size as price moves in the indicated trenddirection. For example, if the initial entry was for 10 lots, then as price moves to the next predetermined level add 5 more lots, then 3 more at the next level, then 2 more, for a total of 20 lots.

The Inverted Pyramid, which is also known as the equal amounts pyramid, adds to an initial position in equal share-size increments. For example, if the initial entry was for 10 lots, then as price moves to the next predetermined level add 10 lots more, then if the price continues 10 lots more, then 10 lots more, for atotal of 40 lots. Here, however, the average cost per share is much higher, such that a smaller price reversal eliminates all profit. The inverted pyramid offers greater potential reward at the cost of much greater risk, as compared to the standard, scaled-down pyramid.

The Reflecting Pyramid systematically adds to a position up to a predetermined price level, then it reduces the position systematically as the trend continues, so the reflecting pyramid is not a pure trend following method. If the price does have a majormove in the indicated trend direction, the reflecting pyramid would result in less profit than both the standard and inverted pyramids.

The Maximum-leverage Pyramid keeps on adding maximum size up to the limits of accumulated profits and margin requirements. This is the most aggressive strategy possible, and it offers the maximum potential reward, the maximum potential risk, and the worst reward/risk ratios. This pyramid must be combined with tight exit rules, or else it is a formula for near-certain ruin.

I use Inverted Pyramid in PointBreak EA, and PointBreak EA in the long run (i.e. over the months or years) has been able to keep onthe right side of the long term trend more often than not, you will have achieved what 95% of traders are unable to: "profitable success".

PointBreak EA new release and MSP Tutorial

The logic behind Pointbreak EA is:

1) Pyramiding system; where we add more positions as the market ismoving in our favor based on technical analysis.

The pyramiding technique work best on situation where the positionsbecome skew to 1 direction.

For uptrend market, the EA work best if the positions skew to LONGpositions; And for downtrend market, the EA work best if the positions skew toSHORT positions.

2) Point Break EA will profitable on a trending market and cause adrawdown on choppy market.

PROBLEM WITH ALL TECHNICAL ANALYSIS TRADING SYSTEM (EXPERT ADVISOR):

Problem with all technical analysis strategy trading strategyis all indicators will be useless against sudden fundamental newsthat moves the currency against our positions.

On January 2008:
EUR market was very choppy because of 2 times cutrate on USD and the first time was above all expectation; the news caused some drawdown in M cycle.
(if your M cycle opened lot of sell positions before the news came; or you did not manually interrupted the EA when you hear the cut rate results).

How can you manually interrupt PointBreak EA?
You can interrupt the logic behind PointBreak EA using MSP ABOVE orMSP BELOW functions.

MSP ABOVE functions: Moving the Starting Point above the current positions.
MSP BELOW functions: Moving the Starting Point below the current positions.

Now, I will explain how to solve the drawdown at M cycle usingmanually MSP (Moving Starting Position) for the current situation.

FIRST:
We need to detect where the EUR market will go (in the followingweeks).

My last prediction this week for EUR: EUR will fall below 1.4500 before continue uptrend towards above 1.4850 next week. The low if it possible should be remain above 1.4360.

IT MEANS THAT WE NEED TO SKEW THE POINTBREAK EA POSITIONS TOUPTREND DIRECTIONS, BY CLOSING SOME PROFITABLE SELL POSITIONS ANDADDING SOMEBUY POSITIONS IN ORDER TO CLOSE OUR M-CYCLE PROFITABLE.

SECOND:
We need to manually MSP (Moving the Starting Point) BELOW (the time I write this message, EUR is at 1.4490).

These are the steps to manually MSP BELOW (for SpecialEditions only).
For POINT BREAK EA FULL VERSION, we have build in special function for these steps below.

1. Close all PROFITABLE SELL position (in your M cycle).

2. Move the Start Point M1 to last highest SELL position (in your Mcycle)

3. Open the Global Variable and set variable MACDBUYSELL to 0.

4. Restart your MT4 platform.

(You need to open the Comment at your MT4 trading platform to haveinformations which positions are C-cycle and which are M-Cycle.)

NEW UPDATE ON POINTBREAK EXPERT ADVISOR (Build Feb 8, 2008):

1) The new release fix lot-size problem on M cycle; which sometime set back to 0.01 if you accidentally change the period or restart your MT4.

2) There are additional 3 new parameters for M cycle:
M1_Lot_Multiply = 2;
M_Buy_Pos = true;
M_Sell_Pos = true;

Note:
A) By default M Cycle will open new positions with 2x bigger then C-cycle.
If you fill M1_Lot_Multiply = 1, M-Cylce will open new positition with lotsize same as C cycle.(you change this setting if you do not like the M1 Lot-size bigger than C cyles).

B) M_Buy_Pos (default true).
If you fill M_Buy_Pos = false, the EA will not open Buy Positions on M Cycle.

C) M_Sell_Pos (default=true).
If you fill M_Sell_Pos = false, the EA will not open Sell Positions on M Cycle.

When do we need to set the Parameter M_Buy_Pos & M_Sell_Pos toFALSE ?

You can set the parameter to false if you do not want POINTBREAK add positions to 1 direction.

For example:
You sure the EUR market will be uptrend in following weeks.
If you set the M_Sell_Pos to FALSE, it means you do not want the EA to open another SELL positions which cause additional drawdown really going up.
(The EA will not open SELL positions on M cycle until you set M_Sell_Pos to TRUE again).

IMPORTANT BEFORE YOU UPGRADE TO NEW RELEASE (BUILD ON FEB 08):
1) You need to check your Global Variables, the lot-size for M Cyclemust be the same with C cycle. If your C cycle opened the positions using 0.02, your M lot-size in global variable should be 0.02 too.
Please update your M lot-size.

2) After that restart the MT4. To download new release, go to this link:

Some of you just start using PointBreak EA this week, some has been using more than a month or two; and I know most of your concern is about drawdown when your positions against the trends.

Most of you do not know what should you do when the drawdown become large:
- Should you stop the cycle or should you make some adjustment by closing some positions ?

First, I will explain that all expert advisors use technical indicator as the main indicator, including PointBreak EA.
The disadvantage of technical indicator is the EA will be useless againts sudden fundamental or important news that cause the trends against our positions.

Jan 23 is one of the examples where Pointbreak EA has detected temporary downtrend before cut rate decision.
My trial since Dec 2008 has not show that drawdown because my M1 positions has closed before the cut rate decision as you see below:http://www.forexhope.com/trading_report.htm

With sudden cut rate decision that big on Jan 23, 2008, USD become very weak causing some of you who still left open with M1 position become drawdown.

And you do not what you do when there is a big important news that do not support your positions.
PointBreak EA work best when the trend support your larger positions; it means when your larger position is sell, Pointbreak EA will no problem with downtrend,
but cause a problem with uptrend.

Second, the important key of using PointBreak is reservation of your capital; that's why I always encourage to use the minimum risk setting or demo account until you really undertand how PointBreak EA works, until you understand what is the different between each cycle, etc.

Usually what I do when the trend do not support my current positions:
1. Wait until the EA solve the problem, or
2 Do manual MSP (Moving Starting Point), by closed positions against trends/news and add positions that support the trend/news.

I still believe PointBreak has the most consistent Expert Advisors out there but you need to know the disadvantage and the advantage of PointBreak EA.
You need to know how to use PointBreak EA correctly; I use it to manage my clients funds.

They offer PointBreak EA Crack. Serial, Keygen, Torrent, Free Full Version Download and Serial number, Patch, no cd and CD Key generator, password.

This EA is definitely attract lot of people, there's lot of people want to make profit for this EA.

I found some website link that do not belong to our website but tried to sell an EA called PointBreak EA. And I found some hacker tried to decompile / cracked PointBreak EA and selling the cracked code; I even got the decompile version of PointBreak EA from my subscriber.

I test using 4 years of back testing: the decompile version of the Pirate EA. First results, the PoinBreak EA since work correctly for the first couple weeks, when there is no big drawdown.The problem results after the EA founds very choppy market, which the pirates sofware can't resolve the drawdown; and the drawdown become bigger and bigger until it blow up the account... see the chart.

If you do not believe, just send me your pirate copy I will then tell you how to test it! You can see yourself that the pirate copy will blow up your account on very choppy market!

I check the source code and found there so much substitution code; and the substitution code just can't work like the original and it change the logic behind PoinBreak EA.
I guest it come from machine code to MQL language; which the decompile program can't work correctly.

Also, if you somehow buy the pirate copy... I offer to substitute those pirate copy with the ORIGINAL copy with discount .... :)

"i’ve been asked soooo many times which are my favourite EAs… and i’ve always answered in a neutral way… until yesterday.
A recent visitor to the blog (by the initials of A.A.) asked this question : “out of the five EAs you tested, which one do you like the most?”

In the past, i would have said “none”… as there weren’t many Expert Advisors that i would trade LIVE with. however, in the recent weeks, i began to see the light… after traveling through the the tunnel for over 4 months. at a time where many have given up on the thought of finding a profitable EA (visit the forums and you will feel this sentiment), i started to understand what makes a good EA and which ones that i’ve tested are good enough for me to go LIVE. to cut the story short, this is how i replied to A.A.’s email (with a little more detail added in) :

question #1 from A.A. : Out of the five EAs you tested, which one do you like the most?
right now, these are my favourites in order of preference… but it it’ll take a very very long email to explain why i like them and why i’ve placed them in this order… but i’ll try to explain briefly :

#1 : PointBreak (by Lin)
Reason : this is an EA based on the actual EA that Lin is using to trade his customer’s money. he has been using it for over 1 year now with good monthly returns. because of this, and because of the confidence that Lin has with this EA, i believe it’s one that can stand the test of time (it has already for more than a year).

being a mathematical EA, it’s not prone to unexpected market movements. it does not try to predict where the market will go, but takes advantage of the fact that the market trends (up or down) more than it ranges. as long as it’s trending up or trending down, it will continue to make small trades in the direction of the trend. if the trend reverses, it will change the direction of the trades to trade WITH the trend. this acts as like a hedge, but essentially, it’s doing something called pyramiding and averaging.

when the pair (EURUSD) starts to range (ie. goes flat), PointBreak may have a tendency to experience a drawdown. during this period, it kind of turns on a 2nd engine which attempts to get small wins from the ranging market to mediate the drawdown. once the trend resumes, it will start it’s pyramiding and averaging again.

something to take note of is that the EA treats all the above trades as one single CYCLE… and the cycle will only end when the NETT of all trades are in profit…. hence drawdowns are expected when trading with this EA. this may make some traders uneasy… but looking at the historical behavior of the EURUSD and the way the Money Management is programmed into PointBreak, all these started to make sense to me. as long as the Money Management is kept conservative, PointBreak will never over trade. and since the EURUSD historical trends more than it ranges, the mathematical logic behind the EA will put the probability of closing out each cycle with a profit in the trader’s favor.

#2 : FractalWizard (by Lin)
Reason : it’s based on a contrarian approach for trade entry… which i think gives it an advantage over traditional entry methods that waits for confirmation and often ends up chasing the trend (ie. usually late). i also like that the EA has some built-in intelligence in it’s exit strategy which attempts to cut losses short and let profits run (TP = 100 pips, initial stop based on an indicator which makes it adaptive to the market conditions). keyword here is ADAPTIVE.
being an EA that adapts to the market conditions, i’m expecting that FractalWizard will not require “re-optimisation” very often. EAs with fixed-pip stop-losses and trailing stops, in my opinion, are in a way “optimised” to be profitable in a certain market. over time, such an EA may become less profitable or may even start to generate losses.

due to FractalWizard’s adaptive nature, as well as it’s good forward-testing results (at fxhope.com), i think this EA is poised to remain profitable for a good while. it’s not a very exciting EA to watch (it does not trade very often), but i think it’s definitely one that is worth watching.

#3 : DoublePlay v4.0 (by Hal Chapman)
Reason : i think Hal has managed to make the new version of this very popular EA profitable again… judging from the good forward-testing that i’m getting : 100% winners so far! however, i’m not sure how long it will last… since it looks like the settings may have been “optimised” based on the fact that the stop-loss and trailing stop levels were changed, but are still fixed-pip values. however, a new BE (break-even) feature has been added, and it now has an optional feature of utilizing invisible stops to make sure that brokers are not able to do stop-hunting on your stops. these new features should be able to enhance the EA’s profitability… although i’ve not tested them to be able to confirm so.

despite my reservations, i know what Hal Chapman is capable of. his DoublePlay v3.5.2 was very impressive back in Sept where it doubled an account within a month. Hal knows his stuff, and i think i like what i’m seeing in DoublePlay v4.0 so far.

if i’m going LIVE with DoublePlay, i’ll probably wait till the holiday season is over and when volume is back to normal. priced at US$199 (before ck’s rebates), DoublePlay is likely to pay for itself within the 1st week if it continues to perform as what we’ve seen in our forward-test.
question #2 from A.A. : Which EA are you using for your live trading?
none right now. the last one was DoublePlay v3.5.2 back in Oct. i’ve been in 100% testing mode since then.

if i were to go LIVE again, i’ll probably go LIVE with DoublePlay v4.0 first while it’s showing good profitability to get some quick profits. once my trading capital grows… i may move the money out of DoublePlay and spread them over PointBreak (lower risk / better consistency) and maybe FractalWizard if the forward-test continues to show good results in Jan 08.
